16,570 Houses Completely Destroyed by Earthquake in Rukum West

Rukum Paschim: The earthquake in the six local levels of Rukum Paschim has caused devastating consequences, with a total of 16,570 houses completely damaged. Hari Prasad Panta, the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Committee and Chief District Officer, mentioned that the final count might rise as data collection continues in the district.

Based on the data provided by the municipality mayors and the rural municipality chairpersons in the Committee meeting, the highest number of houses were damaged in Aathbiskot Municipality. Aathbiskot Municipality saw 7,148 houses completely destroyed, followed by 3,146 houses in Sanibheri Rural Municipality, with an additional 722 houses partially damaged by the earthquake.

Likewise, Chaurajahari Municipality reported 1,987 houses completely destroyed and 4,374 houses partially damaged, while Musikot Municipality saw 2,300 houses completely demolished and 3,500 partially damaged. Triveni Rural Municipality experienced 1,935 houses completely destroyed and 1,258 houses partially damaged. Banfikot Rural Municipality reported 18 houses completely destroyed and 107 houses partially damaged due to the earthquake.
