Karnali Province Government Provides Financial Assistance to Earthquake-Hit Areas

Karnali: The Karnali province government has allocated and distributed Rs 24.5 million to support earthquake survivors in the districts of Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim, and Salyan.

A total of 16 local levels in these districts have received financial assistance. Bheri and Nalgadh municipalities and Barekot rural municipalities in Jajarkot were each granted Rs 2.5 million. Kushe rural municipality received Rs 2 million, while Chhedgad municipality and Junichande rural municipality each received Rs 1 million.

According to government spokesperson and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Krishna Bahadur GC, Shivalaya rural municipality was provided half a million rupees.

In Rukum Paschim district, Athbiskot and Sanibheri municipalities received Rs 2.5 million each, and Chaurajahari and Triveni rural municipality were granted Rs 2 million each. Musikot municipality was allocated Rs 1 million, and Banphikot rural municipality received half a million rupees.

Additionally, Darma rural municipality of Salyan received Rs 1.5 million, and Bagchaur and Bangad Kupinde municipalities were each granted half a million rupees.

Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim were among the hardest-hit areas during the earthquake on November 3.
